The ones previous to Underground were also about illegal racing. You even had the option to play as a cop on some. That’s not the point. On Underground the best you could get were mid-range japanese carsп»ї like Impreza and Skyline. On High Stakes, for instance, you choose between STARTING with a BMW or a Mercedez. Get the picture?
And the tracks were all beautifully designed countryside scenarios with classy electronic music, not this ridiculous (more…)

Since the inception of a fledgling event in 1993, West Plains Motor Speedway owners Don and Billie Gibson have sought to do only one thing-give dirt racing fans what they want.
They created the Show-Me 100 with thoughts toward not only bringing in the best of the best in the sport, but also structuring a purse that rewarded anyone who made their way into the event. They offered a hefty $25,000 winner’s check as the top prize in that first edition (more…)

MJ2 Racing Challenges – Frustration x 2

Chuck Carruthers watched as the two busted-up MJ2 Racing cars disappeared into the attic of a team hauler. He sighed with disgust and frustration.
“I’ve never had a season like this,” he said. “It’s maddening because I don’t know what to try next. Nothing we do seems to make any difference to the cars.
“It’s obvious the teams that are doing well and know something we don’t.”
That’s an unusual place to be for Carruthers, crew chief for the two-car (more…)

They say you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Sometimes that’s true, but there are times when you really can have both. We recently sat down with Weir Schankel of Van Alstine Manufacturing. Van Alstine produces tools to help maintain and modify tires, and its grooving and siping products are very popular among racers. Because of its relationship with several of the top racers in the nation, Schankel has worked with many of these racers on developing (more…)

You wouldn’t think that his 12 years experience racing Karts would have applied to his excellent Dirt Late Model career, but Chris Madden will tell that it certainly did.
“It was the nature of the Kart, with its lack of a suspension system, that taught me to feel the racecar,” says Madden. “With a car with a suspension system, you can feel the car move against the shocks and springs. But with a Kart, I developed the capability to feel the speed. (more…)

Each race season a new group of racers hit the track to chase that elusive checkered flag. Youngsters as young as five turn laps in Quarter Midgets, and middle-aged guys-and increasingly-gals decide to make the journey from the grandstands to the starting lineup of a Street Stock or Mini Stock race at their local track.
The choices available when selecting an entry level race vehicle are as varied and diverse as they’ve ever been. And the money (more…)

Looks good but not amazing. I think the best nfs game ive played is either most wanted or undercover. PERSONALLY i prefer street racing because of the amazing customization. I don’t know if shift is going to be better. Sure graphics have improved but really? Would you rather play aп»ї game where you could drive zondas (that you customised) on the streets or driving a zonda on a plain track. I am not saying this game is going to be bad, it does (more…)
